Rites & Rhythms of Ritual
with kate-marie & michael molin-skelton
I want to know every inch
of this earth as an altar--
every walk, a pilgrimage.
Every step, a step
from holy to holy
to holy

Ritual: the unspoken language of the soul. it is prayer made visible, vocal and visceral. with commitment and intention, ritual has the capacity to alter time and heighten our awareness. as we dance through the portal of ritual we enter into a sacred space to remember and re-create; remember our souls purpose and re-create ourselves in that whole and holy image. this is the co-creation of our ceremonial RITES & RHYTHMS OF RITUAL.
From the beginning of time ritual has been used to face the unknown and confront forces beyond our control. in our practice we use the platforms of soul motion and the power of ritual to embody presence through the pause and attend the miracle of each unfolding moment. we cultivate circular awareness to widen the lens of our attention until everything is viewed as singular and sacred. we attune our souls to become an open source of inspiration, where each being believes and belongs within the tapestry of our humanness. we will dance alone, in communion, in community and into our every day dance journey from birth to death; the common daily ritual we call life.
This immersion is for those who wish to deepen their application of creative ritual making and explore ways to bring ordinary gestures to life. The first part of our time together is a deepening of our curiosity on what makes a ritual and how, followed by space to cultivate and create your own lived experience of ritual over several weeks. During this time kate-marie and michael will continue to support and reach out to you until we meet again to share our musings and magic of what unfurled.

Acknowledgement
I want to acknowledge that my ancestors are the fruit of diverse groups who, willingly or unwillingly, crossed rivers and lands, and whom I carry their stories and my own wherever I go. I currently live and be on Kaurna country and give respect to the peoples of past, present and future that have and still do attend to this land with their presence, song, dance and connection. I also want to invite empathy and respect for those (human and non-human) enduring the ongoing harms of colonisation and occupation of their ancestral lands, and for those forced to flee due to human or climatic disruption. May they be supported and welcomed wherever they go. |
