The Soul Motion: Mastery to Mystery Leadership & Teacher Training is, at its core, a journey into the heart of the person who dreams of becoming a teaching of this work.
The architecture of this practice (founded by Vincent Martinez) gives rise to movement platforms and principles that say; pausing is an essential practice in cultivating presence, orienting oneself to a 360° view of the world is vital in including the excluded, and each of us is a source of inspiration worthy of being reflected and echoed in the world.
Your journey begins with an immersive dive into specific ways to meet the rise and fall of each moment with grounded embodiment and presence. We hold an abiding focus on exploring, developing and nurturing an intimate relationship with how you move through the daily experiences of your life: being a parent, navigating your work space, negotiating conflict, marvelling at nature. Being deeply connected and self-resourced is the essential wellspring and foundation of your unique way of being a soul in motion in your every day lives and defines and designs your distinctive way of teaching the Soul Motion practice. You will be guided and accompanied in this investigation with individual mentoring and various group processes that will allow you to be held and blossom in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Hand in hand with these life affirming encounters with your every day, we will widen our attention to include a rich array of practical skills that strengthen your ability to step into the circle of teaching and leadership. The building blocks of class structure, seeing and sensing the room, the power of silence, musical mapping and the potency of poetry and storytelling are broken down and pieced back together. Throughout the program you will be personally mentored by the leaders of this training, and you will find yourself teaching in supported small groups.
Enriching, deep, practical, and individually supportive, this program is a living process specifically crafted to meet and accompany you on the journey of naming and claiming all of who you are. Previous experience recommended:
- Participation in Soul Motion classes or workshops
- Participated in a Soul Motion foundations
- Exploration of other somatic based practices whether that be dance or any body based modality
During the 18 month journey you will have the opportunity to attend:
- 2 x 12 day in person Residences - Bali, Indonesia
- 50 hours plus online sessions over the 18 month program
- many dedicated and supported opportunities to lead sessions (in-person + online)
- unlimited mentoring sessions with each leader and teacher on the team
- online small groups, meeting regularly with your peers in the training.
You will be offered opportunities to:
- Continue to become an embodied presence and share your gifts
- Meet other soul motion teachers / leaders in the field
- Develop an understanding of the different ways that music makes magic for a body in motion, this includes creatively and technically
- Explore your own unique presence so that you feel at ease and confident when holding space for others
- Learn how to use the potency of poetry and storytelling
- Design soul motion dance classes and be able to use the map of the soul motion practice within other environments off the dance floor
- Understand and apply different teaching and leadership styles
- Create and apply somatic language inspired from your everyday living
- Develop and strengthen embodied grounded leadership qualities that bring forth your unique presence with confidence and clarity
- Learn the dynamics of power, safety and ethics in the context of becoming a teacher / leader of this practice or any other professional space you might be involved in
- Understand how to see and lead a group of people, whether that be in dance or other environments you find yourself in
- Develop self reflective skills both for self and others
- To be grounded and connected with your own presence whilst leading groups

In-person Residencies and Online Experiences

Beginning Together

Times TBC December /January : Four 1.5 hour session
We begin together with a series of online workshops where we focus on expanding your somatic understanding of the Soul Motion movement platforms: Pause Presence, Orbit Orientation, Echo Inspiration. Through guided experiences and embodied explorations you deepen your connection and trust in your unique inner wisdom, while establishing connections with your co-hearts travelling this journey with you. With the practical support, guidance and perspectives of your mentors, you will develop your own awareness practice that originates in your movement experiences and intertwines with your everyday life.
Before we gather in-person, each participant will have the opportunity to share what they discovered on their individual inquiry into one of the Soul Motion Movement Platforms. Offering your wisdom to the group is an essential part of Soul Motion. Together we listen and learn from the breadth of our diversity, while resting in the notion that all points of view expand the richness of this work we love.
Immersing Together
In-Person Residency • Bali Indonesia 2026

This twelve day gathering ushers in the practical development of your teaching skills. This includes understanding the nature of class structure, seeing and sensing the room, musical ministry and the use of poetry and storytelling. Underlying this learning is the nurturing of your ability to be a resourced, creative and resilient teacher and person.
Incubating Together

As we move back into the online environment, you will be in a small group of co-hearts. Each person in each group will have opportunities to lead exercises and begin to nurture and grow new skills. Each online group will have one of the leaders present to provide immediate support, guidance and we revel in each success. We believe that inspirational teachers develop through practice, practice, practice.
Emerging Together
In-Person Residency • Bali Indonesia
October 11 - 22 (12 days)
We gather for our final in-person retreat where skills are honed, experimentation is embraced and knowledge is expanded. The importance of behind-the-dance-floor skills are explored, including marketing, ethics, and collaboration. Of course, built into this time is an ongoing celebration of the journey.

Returning to the online environment we turn our attention to ongoing support that is focused on encouraging every body to soar.

Bali, Indonesia holds the essence of Mystery and Mastery, with its volcanic tropical landscapes and rich active culture it offers a living embodied presence that truly reflects the essence of the soul motion practice. Kate-Marie also has a long and personal relationship with this part of the world, being Indo-European she is a descendant of the Makassan people (from Sulawesi) and over many years has discovered the lands and culture of her ancestors from Indonesia.
We, michael, winky and kate-marie are working towards bringing this training to Bali for both the ease of the international communities that are interested in joining us and to also continue to cultivate our ongoing relationships with local people. As part of our ongoing commitment to developing meaningful local relationships and an awareness of our impacts wherever we are hosted, we are invested in offering this and future trainings that puts local people and their environment at the heart of our decision making. This means financially, socially, environmentally and spiritually, hence we have shifted from 3 shorter residences to 2 longer ones with a robust online presence as a way of reducing our travel impact, ensuring that the venue operates in local currencies and employs local people. These and many more ways we will keep listening and learning on how best to be of service to the needs of local people as we continue to cultivate connections and relationships wherever we are.

We strongly recommend participants stay at Narasoma for ease and ongoing connection with the group. There are various budgets and styles available at Narasoma, including 8 affordable twin share 1 single room in the retreat centre part of Narasoma and several other rooms and villas in the homestay area of Narasoma. Kate-marie will organise participants who stay at Narasoma and if you wish to stay in another venue close by you are free to do so.
